Here's a couple of pics of mine. 71 LS5 4 Speed. Black interior. NOM. I have the build sheet off the tank. I've owned it for almost two years. Showing 97k miles but the speedometer is broken so I have no idea how many miles are on it. It's got a few issues here and there but I love it. I let my middle son take it to his Senior prom about a month after I bought it.

2025 c3 ('68-'73) of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
2024 C3 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Default 1972 LS5, 4 Speed, coupe

4th owner:
Owner 1: 1972 - 1973 (oil pump went with 50 miles - 1972CE replacement engine installed under warrantee)
Owner 2: 1973 - 2002 (lacquer paint - 1985)
Owner 3: 2002 - 2005 (hardly drove it)
Owner 4: 2005 - ???? (hardly driving it)

Owner 2 was a fanatic who spent years taking it to shows and winning trophies. He offered them to me - I have no space for them. Has 84k miles.
I bought it with 82k in 2005 - definitely didn't get to use it enough...

Hey JR,

Per your request, here's mine. I have it posted in the '70-454 thread and figured folks might be getting tired of seeing it! 1970 Laguna grey LS-5, 4-speed, only options are deluxe interior and hardtop. The car features the original paint and interior with the same owner for the last 45 years. I reluctantly replaced the original soft top this year with a correct date stamped top because the rear window was getting cloudy. I feel like I'm 17 years old again every time I get behind the wheel! I have the original trim rings and center caps, but I've always liked the look with no rings and flat disc brake caps. I've also got a set of PO2's for the car, but have never put them on in 45 years. I had the black custom lace paint done on the rear panel when the car was brand new and don't have the heart to remove it because it's part of the car's "heritage". Same thing with the Marshall University parking permit on corner of the windshield and the 1975 Union Carbide parking permit on the rear view mirror. Each little nick and blemish tells the story of my life with the car.

Great look - are those repro tires? How is it driving on them?

Hey danthony,

Thanks for the comments. Yes, they are repop tires that were purchased from Zip and are supposedly made in the original Goodyear molds. My car has the original, unused spare and the repop tires match it perfectly! As for how the car handles, it behaves like it did when new. Keep in mind that narrow, bias-ply tires tend to feel a bit "squirrely" and they "thump" when cold until the tires warm up. Back then (1970) we didn't know any better and thought it drove great! To me, the authentic look is worth the trouble of dealing with bias-ply tires. Does it handle like a new Camry? Heck NO, but that's part of the allure of piloting a big block, 4-speed, no PS C3.
