Default Check the cheap stuff first

I had just changed intake manifolds and the car ran great. Little hard starting but no big deal; it's always been cold blooded. Took it out Sunday. Ran fine. Cranked it up Monday to go to breakfast. Cranked, cranked, cranked, etc. etc. No start. Ran the battery down, so put it on the charger over night. Tues a.m. tried it again. No go. Tested everything I could find. No go. Thought there was a weak spark at the spark plug, so tested the coil. Coil didn't test correct. $140 later, brought the new coil home. Before I changed it, I decided to test the spark plug one more time. Went to pull the wire off the plug and noticed the ground wire (block to frame) moved. Wasn't attached. No idea how long it had been broken. Re-attached to the block and the damn thing started almost before I turned the key. Luckily, the parts store took the coil back. (Really didn't think they'd do that and was prepared to put it on Ebay) Moral: Check the cheap stuff before spending. Have a great day, Bill.
