Default 1980 front bumper

I have decided to replace the front bumper on my 1980 vette this winter. As I shop for them I find several types. I see the original rubber, True Flex, Flex Fit, and Fiberglass...
The original is that rubber that I have now and it has waves in it and I know I don't want to do that again. What have you guys found to be the easiest to work with, and seems to have the best results?

I went with Ecklers fiberglass, had to do some fiberglass work to front end but not that bad. I was worried about having no flexibility if nose hit something but then I thought I don't let the nose hit anything. I like it a lot. I taken the front end off a couple of times with no problems

Just trying to figure out what True Flex, Flex Fit are. Have they made a better option?
That is one fine black hot rod!!

Hand Laminated Body Parts
Used on all (Ecklers manufactured fiberglass since 1965.
three layer, hand-rolled process eliminates all bubbles, providing a
strong, uniform surface. jel coat finish ensures smooth, easy sanding.
Less time consuming and less costly to fit to your car and to prepare for paint. Ability to produce large body panels with compound curves with no bonding strips required

Press Molded Body Parts
Formed in a large hydraulic press similar to the factory original parts.
Smooth finish on both interior and exterior sides of your part. Slightly
higher cost but closely resembles factory panels

Hand Laminated (Flex-Fit) Fiberglass Bumpers
Combines the flexibility of urethane with the cost advantages
of fiberglass. Allows seamless integration of bumper with
front body panels for better appearance and easier painting

Injection Molded Urethane Bumpers
Factory original appearance. More resistance to crash impact than
standard fiberglass.

I would do fiberglass bumper, it will never change shape like the other can

The flex bumpers are thinner than the fiberglass ones. I used a flex and regret it. It didn't line up as great as you would think. And when I had to do some work on it I sanded right thru it. And then had to do extra glass work. Ended up molding it in because it just didn't fit right. Use the fiberglass one.

YEP...rigid fiberglass ( NOT FLEX) is the ONLY way I go....unless the customer wants to go back with urethane which is the fastest way to do it.
