Electrical problems from the PO have taken 90% of my time since getting the 68 BB convert last year. Adding a new dash wiring harness solved some issues, but I found one more bubba problem that messed up my heater and windshield wipers. Bubba had taken the black ground wire that goes to the starter (and is the ground for the heater motor and w wipers) and fastened it on the hot main terminal along with the main + wire from the battery. I guess if you are going to wire something incorrectly you might as well connect to the largest wrong wire you can find. RA
Common mistake, we see it here on the forum at least 3 times a year.
I would have done the same mistake if not for Forum members who had good advice, rather than posting a smart-*** remark to my question.
Also.....even though a new dash harness/cabin fuse block fixed most of the electrical problems....the original firewall harness connector to the fuse block had badly corroded terminals (which I didn't notice until weeks later).....a new firewall harness solved the rest of the elec. problems.

Thankfully there is more good advise here than the smart alec kind. Hopefully those that are tired of giving out good advise, don't resort to belittling others for their own entertainment and those with mistaken knowledge are not taken seriously.

"firewall harness connector to the fuse block had badly corroded terminals" doorgunner- I had the rare foresight to check mine and was able to clean the lightly oxidized terminals with emery paper and that electrical contact spray. I label everything when I remove it from the car, but I suspect the PO was in a hurry and when he swapped the engine just left wires un-labeled, thinking he would remember where they went, hence the cause of most of my current problems with the car. But- I've got almost all of the mistakes fixed. RA
