1971 Radiator Options
I need to put a radiator in my LS5. I would like something as original looking as possible. I have an original, but it is pretty rough. What would you guys do? Re-core? Buy aftermarket? Of course money is always a consideration.

Tested and tanked. Re-core after that. You don't say your having cooling problems. Is your original leaking?

This is a project car. Never been run. Original has quite a bit of green corrosion on it. I assume it leaks.

Hi P,
The Dewitts radiators are often a good solution.
Have you looked at their site for the various possibilities for your application?

Alan

I put a Dewitts in mine and it looks and fits like an original. I thought that it was a bit expensive but you get what you pay for.

I wonder what a re-core costs.

Why not have it checked before you spring for a new radiator you may not need?

I agree with others on the DeWitts options. They have direct fit replacements for your car in natural aluminum or black. I believe they can even be date coded if you so desire. Other pluses are AMERICAN MADE
and lifetime warranty. Mine is due to be delivered tomorrow, but it'll be a long while before it's installed and used so the "lifetime" is especially important to me.
