Default Fixing Up The Rear End

I finally got the old dog sitting back on the wheels instead of jack stands.

Before I started:

That's a big nasty job.
The difference is like night and day.
Good work!

You put some time sweat and elbow grease to make that change from ugly to purdy! Looks fantastic - keep up the good work!

Did you pick the car from the bottom of a lake?

LOL, No. It's been rode hard & put away wet
It was sitting in a guys garage for 8 years. It was originally from Texas. It was so loaded with dirt & rocks, etc. I believe I have removed at least 5 lbs of dirt so far. It would hardly run and kept puking gas out the bowl vents. When I tore the engine down the cylinder walls & rings were in bad shape, but good enough the .030 corrected that issue. Has some blow-by. I was hoping that I could get away with some new gaskets & a rattle can tune and save for a big block, but that will be a little later than originally planned.
It's saving grace is the interior is in good shape. The only thing I have had to replace so far is the visors & steering wheel. But that was because I didn't like the small cracks it had around the edges of it. One thing I cannot stand is a nasty interior.
Now on to the front end. I have the Borgeson power steering and all new suspension & steering parts to install. The motor is ready to be picked up from the machine shop. I'm hoping to have it back on the road soon.

So I went to the machine shop today to pick up my block, crank & heads and got to watch them do some pulls on this thing. Alcohol injected, hit just shy of 1,800 HP at 8,000 RPM

Didn't have much time to play in the garage this past weekend. I only got the tranny cleaned up.

That 700R transmission came out of your C3?

Interesting because it's a C4 Corvette trans with the C Beam mount type tail shaft housing.
