For a modern 15 radial tire many people look at BFG radial T/A tires.

Since the tires noted are being sold into a limited customer base, supplier inventory could be several years old; especially if they don't use FIFO. Check the mfrs date code embossed in the side wall. Many forum members feel that a 5-7 year tire life should be considered as a time to change.

Out of all the tires I tried back in the day on my '72 and '73, nothing performed like T/A radials. Terrific launch with almost no spin, and excellent handling as well.
Amen 2nd that have same experience with my 68 BB.

Another good option for C3s are the Cooper Cobra tires. I have owned BFGs in the past, and I feel that the Coopers are better performing tires. They also cost less than the BFGs as well...
I cannot recall the poster by name but he had 17" tires and he custom ordered Raised White Letters to affix to his tires.
They really turned out nice.
He had 17" rally wheels and I think Firestone tires.
Tred Ware is the company. They have pics on their website.
Note I have no vested interest in the company either.

Google "Tred Wear raised white letters" who provide white letters you can apply to modern larger diameter tires which typically don't come with white letters. Their website has lots of pics, and some guys have posted pics in the C3 section.
This way you can move up to 17, 18, 19 inch wheels (although most people think 17 or 18 inch is about as big as one should go on a C3. I recently upgraded to 18 inch tires and will be applying white letters this spring.
Beauty is you can have whatever letters you like . My letters spell "VETFEVER" maybe a little cheesy - I'm not sure...

The '82 I bought recently has those tires. They handle as well as the 34-year-old suspension will let them, and straight line traction seems very good. Overall, I wouldn't even be able to evaluate them against BFGs unless the chassis was completely refurbished back to new performance or better. Barring that, I'll replace them with the same thing when the time comes.
Cooper, Mickey Thompson, Firestone, and B.F. Goodrich make RWL tires in 15" diameter sizes. I think all of them are about the same quality level...which is decent for general purpose road use. None are rated for nor capable of high speed sustained driving nor road course handling use. But, for most of us, these tires are just fine.
Personally, I like the BFG T/A Radials. I just think they are well accepted in the C3 and classic car communities. If you like the 'Cooper' or 'M/T' name on your tires go with them.
You can get BFG T/A's from Sam's Club (if you have a membership there) by ordering online and picking up at the store. They also have a lifetime balance and rotate plan, if you choose them to install on your car. Their prices for T/A's are comparable or better than other vendors.
Wherever you have your tires installed, remove the center caps and trim rings YOURSELF before you go to pick them up and have installed. Also, ask them NOT to put weights on the outside rims (they interfere with trim rings). Have them use tape-weights where needed or regular weights on inside rim; also ask them to balance WELL at highway speeds so you get a smooth ride at speed.
