I installed new shocks on my 72 and the front shocks I removed appear to be the originals. They are Delco, part #4949705, Pliacel, julian date 195 71. I'm curious is they have any value to anyone restoring a car to NCRS specs?
Hi p,
Yes!
They're certainly desirable because of their part number and date stamp, and because of the un-pitted condition of the tubes.
Also, the color of them will be interesting to restorers too.
I hope someone gives them a good home!

Alan
Hi,
I even like the nuts at the top!

Alan
Thanks Alan, the nuts are OEM!. The car originally came from Ga and it is totally rust free. It spent 4 years in Ohio in the 90's but never ventured out of the garage in the winter, hence the condition of the original shocks.
Hi p,
I think Stan would be a good person to talk to about them; he might even have something to do with the NCRS on occasion !
If the car is really rust free as you describe it could also have some other 'interesting' parts still on it.

Alan

I have 2 front used shocks from a 1972 dated 195-71 with washers and rubber bushings they are rusty and pitted but you can still read the numbers on them.

Interesting. Did they come off of your car, if so what is the build date. Mine was built 13 Jan 72.
