New C3 owner
I still have the 1969 Z28 Rally Sport I bought back in high school. Being a lifelong Camaro fan I've never felt the need for a plastic 2-door Chevy with no trunk, but I suddenly find them appealing! Making my friend's head explode when I bought this '74 coupe was half the fun. Anyway, I found the car on Craigslist. The guy I bought it from said a guy near him owned the car for about 20 or 25 years. For the last 14 or 15 it sat outside under a metal carport. The urethane nose disintegrated and the Medium Red paint is shot. (Originally metallic Brown, but painted very well some time in the past.) He had the car for about 2 years, but hurt his back and needed to sell it.
It has 114,350 miles, with the original engine and drivetrain. L48 350, 195hp, TH400 auto. It has the original leather interior with hardly a single crack or tear. He replaced points, plugs, etc, all the usual tuneup things, and replaced the valve cover gaskets. He sandblasted the original Rally wheels, primed and painted them the correct Argent Silver, and put new tires on it. He replaces the rotors, calipers, pads and brake lines all around. He stripped and painted the underside and replaced the gas tank. New shocks, new speedometer cable. The power windows roll up and down quickly, no dragging. The wipers, headlights and heater fan work. The heater core is bypassed, I assume because it leaked. The car has factory air, which doesn't work, of course, but it's complete. It has new mufflers. It drives straight, no shimmies or rumbles, and I can't find any evidence of previous body damage.
He included a 2x3 foot laminated poster of the wiring diagram and the factory assembly manual. He had a box of new parts, including an interior screw kit, a bulb kit, new tach cable, new transmission filter and gasket, and several other miscellaneous pieces.
The engine is complete and everything is original. The cowl induction flapper works, although the air cleaner gasket was rotted. The choke works. All the gauges and lights work. The power steering works and doesn't leak. The transmission shifts hard and quick. He had removed the front bumper to change the urethane nose and blasted and primed all the bumper parts and mounts. The glass is clear with no delamination and no chips. The T-top seals do not leak.
I was quite pleased to get this car for $6,000. What do you think?

I have a similar long term relationship with my avatar car. Welcome to the C3 family and good luck with your '74.

And I also have an '68 Z28 with all original power train, ~73k mi.
