Hi r,
I realize this is your first post but you REALLY need to give a much more detailed description of the car plus post pictures of the exterior, interior, engine compartment, and chassis if you are serious about "pricing it out".
Regards,
Alan
Its in storage so i cant give out pics but the car isn't perfect it has a one ding in the paint about a quarter inch in diameter and it doesn't have the original cam or air cleaner the interior is basically perfect and black. sorry for the shortening of details and no pics.

Honestly, a 1968 convertible big block tri-power could have MASSIVE swings in the price depending almost solely on the general condition and originality.
A very original car that has been properly sitting in dry storage for a very long time could have a great deal of value, even with some checks in the paint. By "great deal of value", I'd say north of $50k.
A period-modified car with a non-original engine that has been sitting in dry storage for a very long time still has value, but the overall quality and cleanliness of the components starts mattering much more. If it is very nice and clean, runs, drives, and turns, but needs some basic attention, you're still looking at a $20k car. Perhaps more. If it's not running or driving and it needs significant attention just to get the basics fixed, think a little less.
A period-modified car with a non-original engine that has been sitting in a damp barn covered with a blue tarp, within which Mamma and Daddy Mouse have been making LOTS of other mice and they all call the 1968 Corvette home...and all of this is happening inside the intake manifold...well...you're starting to get into the sub $10k world.
A 1968 will almost always have some sort of value. Whether that value is $2,300 or $87,500 depends on condition and originality.
It is impossible to assess condition and originality without a few pictures or at least a guided verbal description.
I really hope you have a nice car.

It has t-tops not a convertable and is all origonal exept the cam and aircleaner. everything else is origonal and in excelent condition and everything functions well from the radio to the wipers to the lights.
Your car could be worth anywhere from $12k to $70k depending on condition and which version tripower, original or non original engine and other drivetrain components. Other original or non original parts. Modifications you might not be aware of will also drop the value. Original GM documentation will help the value.
The more accurate the description, the more accurate the assessment.

Everything is original? Are you sure? Are the tires original, on the car for 48 years? Not trying to make fun but to make a point. Unless you really know for sure, using the term "all original" can be a little hazardous. Many times what people think is "all original" is not even close. There are cars on eBay right now that are described as all original when you can see all kinds of changes and missing parts. And there are cars that are found with the original tires. Anything is possible that's why an accurate, very detailed description is needed for any meaningful value.
If its a VERY original car then that is usually better in terms of value.
At some point you will need to post pics or someone will have to see the car
Hi,
Well this might be one very special 68 if indeed the only things that aren't "origonal" are the cam, the air cleaner and a 1/4" ding in the paint!!!!!!
Pictures??????

Alan
definitely post lots of pics! maroon is the 2nd rarest color that year, don't see many of those. do you know if you have the build sheet from the gas tank? motor # match the vin? what other options?
as you are undoubtedly learning, there are many many variables that dictate value when it comes to these vehicles...
Yes, 400hp and 435hp. I think everything was the same with regard to big blocks. The small block was different. A 327 in 68 and in 69 they went to the 350.
My dad also said it has an original K66 option and it has hydraulic lifters. it also from california and has this air pollution thing on it. my dad said when we get it out of storedge we can post pics of it.
