When trim parts made the lenses they stopped at 1975 and I'm guessing the multiple colors in the lens.. You can see in the picture below from our site, we put a note that 76 was not available.

Before the reproduction lens, we'd remove them from the control and buff them up. You can usually get a very nice looking lens this way and possibly that'll be what you will have to do.

If you want to know how to get the control apart, use this page. 1968-1976 Corvette Heater Control Rebuild

Willcox to the rescue.

I knew they were offered...but I had to check...and ran into the same thing on them stopping at 1975...which I myself...would not worry about. UNLESS it just HAS TO BE exactly like factory.

unless you want that blue/white/red line.. go with 75.. the lens will work just fine.

I agree with Mr. Willcox. I buffed my original lens back to a very nice look. Be patient, don't get the lens too "hot" on the wheel, and use an extremely mild rouge.
I've come to heavily depend on my buffer wheels and grinder stand with a medium stone wheel and soft metal wire wheel. Mine are ancient, made in America ancient, but I have friends with Harbor Freight pieces and they're working great. Good luck on your project.
