I am working on my 1972 custom racer concept car and I would like to consider alternatives to the standard wiper motor and wiper linkage used for the car. I am seeking ideas from forum members that may have customized their own wipers to something more modern, cleaner, stronger, etc. If you modified yours and are happy with how they work on your C-3 than please share what you have done here.
No need to bash me for getting away from stock, the whole car is not stock, so please share your good ideas and keep the snide remarks to a minimum, they are not welcomed or warranted.
No bashing needed. I like the classic look of the headlights and WW door, but had a hard time making my motor work them with vacuum at idle. Richard454 helped me do a electric conversion on the headlights and they look and work great and I have less that 200 in the complete set up. Now on to the wiper door. Just got a Miat headlight motor and plan on using that. Are you planning on keeping the door, or go with a long hood?
Either way, there are a couple of threads on doing this. Good luck and I will follow this one.
I wonder if you could adapt one of those fancy single blade units from the Mercedes that also changes offset as it goes.....
Yeah, I've got enough on my plate as it is...

The Corvette is one of the few that has opposed type wipers AND has to park.
I liked the MB single blade idea-but would hit the windshield header if you wanted to sweep the whole window.
If you are going to mod the firewall- this is the motor to run- mid 90s GM- Cadillac/Pontiac/Oldsmobile.
It parks- has all the delays- nice strong motor (it's a real two speed) and self contained electronics -AND there's a bunch of them out there = inexpensive.
Just get a hold of the wiper control off the steering column and no other externals needed
You just have to mod the firewall to get them to park correctly. The motor needs to be horizontal versus the original one that was almost vertical. Oh- the motor drive is the same size as the Corvette- so bolt's right up!!
Here's a breakdown of the wiper - a post I did a few months ago
