Hi Dale,
1/8" diameter on my 71.
The 2 for the weatherstrip retainer are shorter than the single at the bottom for the end of the weatherstrip itself.

Thanks Alan, I have 1/8" but wasn't sure how far the metal plate is embedded in the rubber. It's hard to tell if it is catching the plate or just catching the rubber.

Hi c,
I established how long rivet should be with the weatherstrip off the car.
Push the rivet in from the back and wiggle it around to get a sense were the plate is, then look in from the front to see where the rivet is.
Add the thickness of the fiberglass and about 1/8"/3/16" for the rivet to expand and crush to determine how long the rivet needs to be.
I started with a long rivet and cut it to the length I wanted.
