I need to send my 72 windshield wiper assembly out for repair as the pump does not spray. All is in working order but water is getting around the seal of the plastic piston and running out bottom.
Looking for a repair shop recommendation.
Hi Greg,
I agree with b.
There are pump rebuild kits with new nozzles and o-rings available from various vendors.
You just need to be careful with the old plastic parts since they've gotten pretty fragile, but otherwise it's a pretty straight foreword repair.
Regards,
Alan
Sorry to high jack but my pump doesn't work at all.
Im not sure if its getting power or not but when I push the button I can't hear any pump noise.
What's the fist thing I should check? Which wire is the power wire?
I don't mind changing it but I'd rather fix the original. Is this a common problem?

I needed to have the washer working in order to pass inspection when I first put the car on the road after my 5 year rebuild. As a quick fix I bought 2 O-rings at the hardware store - 1 to fill the seal groove and 1 to fit over the first one and match the outer diameter of the lip seal. It worked fine and it's still working 5 years later.
