Default Looking for my '68

Good morning...I'm reaching out to the community for help in locating my '68 vette (VIN# 194378S412786). The car was a birthday gift to me from my father when I was a 16 year old in HS. So it has a special place in my heart. I drove it for 3-4 years before selling it and going to college. The car was rough...my dad bought it from someone who was trying to heavily modify it. A picture of the car can be seen in my avatar. Previous inquiries in trying to locate the car revealed that it may have had doors from a '69 vette. I have a photo of the handwritten bill of sale when we sold the car in 1991. Please note...the picture of the bill of sale shows the VIN# with a "5" in the place that should be an "S". This was a handwritten error on my father's part, but it could have very well remained this way it's entire life.
You will also notice that I have a picture of the business card of the person who bought the car in 1991. I have reached out to the company and was told the husband and wife got divorced and the women got the car in the divorce settlement. This is where my investigation goes cold. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Fred

Start with the DMV in the state for your bill of sale. They may be able to tell you whether the car could still be titled in that state.

Check to see if the people you sold it to have passed away // google their names and see if they have then see if they had any relatives listed
.took me 8 month to track down a previous owner of a 68 basket case I bought at a eviction junk sale .It was a real L 88 and I found 82 year old previous owners wife .Keep digging you will find it .
Good luck
Wes

Property tax records both Real and Personal for many counties are now online. They are public record. If you know/have an idea where those folks were located, do a tax record search by name and see if anything shows up. You may get an address. Also, USSearch and Innovis can also help for a small fee. Also, search their names through good ol' Facebook. Good luck.
