Default Interval Wiper Oddity

Had no choice but to drive my '79 in the rain yesterday. Noticed that the interval wipers would sometimes swipe three or four times in a row without pausing between. Was afraid that the used wiper motor cover I bought was malfunctioning. The blades were also old and chattering like mad.

Got new blades and they work perfectly. I guess that the old blades were getting stuck and would jump just enough to prevent the switch in the cover from doing its job.

I experienced the same thing when I had a '75 Monte Carlo.

Could be the cover or the module.. I'd pull the cover off and clean the arm sensor or "Rub Contact" (you can see it in the right upper and right lower pictures below) with some contact cleaner and see if you still have the issue.
