I want to ask all of you for some advice in regard to a shifter reverse interlock that's situated on the shifter mechanism for my '69. I was about to order it from Willcoxcovette.com and there are two kinds of it. One is a 5/64 Inch (Part No. 42390) and the other is a 7/64 Inch (Part No. 42391). I am not sure if I should buy both of them and go from there or do I need only one of them?
Hi Mario,
I believe the interlock also acts as a shim… thus the 2 thicknesses.
I'd suggest you order one of each since you don't know at this moment what the shifter rebuild will require.
I'd think the thicker interlock helps reduce the 'sloppiness' a somewhat worn shifter sometimes has.
Regards,
Alan

Thank you Alan for your advice, I really appreciate it. You are right, I should just get the two of them and go from there.
