Default Pic request - door lock rod clip

My obscure request of the week. Had to pull off the door inspection plate to try to figure out why my power window wouldn't go up all the way ( bad gear). There is an odd wire "guard" that goes over the lower lock rod. This wire thing is hooked into the inspection cover gasket. Does anyone know what this part is for? Also, anyone have a pic of its correct placement? Certainly a small thing but enquiring minds want to know.

My 72 didn't have any "wire guard" on the lower rod (or any rod actually) there are the sheet metal retainers on the ends to hold them in the linkages but I don't recall anything I'd call a wire guard.
Pics?

73. There is one on the other side too so it isn't an artifact. Maybe I'll take a pic and post.

That should help if we could see a picture.
