We have a SUV, a truck and a jeep along with our Corvette. I call the Corvette "The Car" the jeep I call "The Jeep", The truck I call "The Truck" and the SUV is "The SUV". I'm very creative. Sometimes I take the wife riding in the car and we leave the kids at the house.
Jeepers, VB. I'll probably throw my back out trying to carry that thing around.
yeah years ago when fiberglas bodies were not the norm and I drove a '37 Chevy Master Deluxe sedan....( real mohair seats..and a six cylinder with a Stromberg downdraft carb_))yeah I been driving Chevy's for over 60 years..
We called the fiberglas muscle cars of the day "Plastic Pigs.."..not an affectionate name tho..jim
My dad's 68 was always called "Charlie's Toy", since '72 at least. Now that's she's mine the name will most likely eventually change. Attachment 48363192
My '75 has been called Lil Red or the beater vette depending on how I'm feeling that day.
My corvette is the black car, the 67 GTO is the red car. My Taurus is my car. The jeep is the jeep the 2016 Rogue is the nissan and my daughters 2015 Chevy Cruz is Tom. Not much effort naming cars here.
We name all our car's these days. I never did but the wife started it with her 05 Caddy STS she got for Christmas in 04. She named him George from the the Bugs Bunny cartoon with the snow monster. So now she has named them all!
Deja Blue

I do not get sentimental about cars, they are indeed inanimate!
I'd like to name mine but my wife tells me not to get to attached to it..... whenever I start spending to much money on it she always says yea do it! I bet my next husband would love a corvette that's all fixed up!
thot about "Phoenix " as any 39 year old car has been sorta raised from the ashes to fly again..
or maybe "Last Lady"..
Wife and I prolly won't have another special mate in this life. All the good years wife and I have spent together..don't think anyone else could put up with me..:0
And don't think We'll ever buy another fun vehicle...My own life expectancy is measured in weeks now since brain surgery and radiation-chemo for a glioblastoma multiforma IV brain tumor..But hope to take a few more pleasant rides in the Corvette, before I depart.Jim
Jim, Sorry to hear of your condition, I hope you enjoy the time you have left.
"Ditch Witch" because that's where I put her the first time I dumped the clutch in first and second. That quickly changed to "Hard to work on piece of $hit" first time I crawled under her. Now it is "Expensive overly complicated Bitch". We are still talking about women, right?
I've never named any of my cars, but my daughter has me thinking about it. She has a white jeep and calls her "Monroe" as in Marilyn with the white dress.
So I tend to go from the color and something fun. My 71 is Maroon Metallic so I'm probably going with "Roonie"
For the OP, since your car is silver, I was thinking "HiYo" as in "Hiyo Silver and Away..."
I name all my cars, my Corvettes are named: '64 FI Tanker: Carrell, '64 Daytona Blue L76: Corrina, '81 TuTone Claret: Claire, '12 Carlisle Blue ZR1: Carly.
The Vette or She. My sister named it Stacy...not sure why but OK. About 3 weeks ago when the carb decided to act up and fuel was being dumped into it she was quickly called a few other choice names. All is well now and the original two names above have been reinstated.

Good grief, sorry to hear that. I hope you get a few more good rides.
I named my 77 Lynette.
I hate the alliteration of "Lynette the corvette" but I just had to. she is named after Lynette who paced me the last 50 miles of my first 100 mile run in Leadville CO. She was and still is strong and fast.
I never named a car, one would think I would, I dont get into fruit tags like "cherry" "lemon" or herbs like "mint" with cars either..
my buddy had a 80 mustang they called the musk rat I thought that was cute,
one of my all time favorite c3's is called "hammerhead" if you know the car then you know it fits perfect, mean nasty c3 looks like it will eat ya if you get too close...
My wife just calls our car "the vette" I call it the "69" ...
Geez, I need to come up with a colorful name for that mess of a car.
