I was looking for a c3 with low miles and four speed and came upon this one. Wish it was close by.

As I suspected so this Corvette has the Muncie cast-iron four-speed installed in 1978-79 L48 built cars. So It is not the Borg Warner aluminum four-speed. Which makes it an unusual power team combination and difficult to get parts for that particular transmission. I think it would be fun to own but you could use it as leverage to offer much less for this Corvette.

The next issue of the NCRS Restorer will have an article about this four-speed but here is a link to a draft if you wish to read up on the Muncie/Saginaw four-speed.

The 1978-79 Muncie Four-Speed

The $14k asking seems high to me. Ask for some interior photos...like seats and steering wheel. Let's see if interior looks like 40k miles or 140k miles.
