I drove by this Corvette for almost 20 years. It moved occasionally from being parked outside the garage to being parked in the circular driveway out front of the house.
I pestered the owner for years, and finally got the car a few weeks ago.
I was surprised to find out the car is titled as a 1969. It has extensive work done to the front and rear clips. The owner said the doors were from a 1974, and the interior was from a 1984.
The drivetrain is composed of a first generation LS engine that is bored to 383, it has Rehr and Morrison Heads, a Doug Nash 5 speed, and rounding out things outback is a Guldstrand rear suspension. It has Brillstein shocks all around. The previous owner had he 16" rims built by some company in Florida back in the early 90"s. If anybody knows who the wheel company is I would appreciate the information, I need the centers for them.
I changed the oil in the engine, transmission, and rear end. I then removed the fuel tank and had it flushed, changed the spark plugs, put a new battery in it, and it fired right up. It runs like a top.
It handles like it is on rails, and it really gets down the road. The stock power steering system is shot, but the rest of the systems are fine after a little tlc.
wow, very sweet looking, it does have a lot of mods for being a 69, but appears well done,
I would love to see the 84 interior as that is c4 and 68-82 are c3's very different,
I really love how the rear bumper is glassed in giving it a nice finished look
Reference pulling the wheels, yep did that and had a look when I replaced the dry rotted tires, nothing on inside of any of the rims.
Reference the Trans Am, it is a 1978 model. It has a Butler Performance 455 Crate Engine, McLeod Twin Disc 11" Clutch, Tremec TKO 600 5 speed, Global West front control arms, Global West subframe connectors, Dougs Long Tube 1 5/8" stainless ceramic coated headers, a stainless 3" exhaust system, Moroso Racing Mufflers, Currie 9" 35 spline rear axle with 3.90 Trac Loc, 4 core aluminum radiator with two electric fans, S&W Race Cars 8 point roll bar and a long list of minor and time consuming modifications
The car is a factory air car, power steering, brakes, trunk, doors, tilt wheel, and windows.
It is a WS6 model and I have the original 400 cubic inch engine, the factory 4 speed and the snowflake wheels.
Overall I am very happy with the car and it is a lot of fun to drive. I track the car and run auto cross with it.
Great looking car. I would just unload the wheels. They don't compliment the car and 16" tire selection is poor. For the power steering, Borgeson would be a nice upgrade.

really ?!
I am no fan of the trend of modern late modern looking big positive offset wheels on these old classics but as a package I thought these wheels looked pretty good on this car,
But yeah, wide tires for 15 " sucks, 295 50 is it and 16"s not much better
Looks like a fun toy! Nice stance and the wheels look good on there.
Any idea what kind of car the side mirrors came off of? Almost didn't notice they weren't stock either, mirror looks larger than the stock sport type mirrors.
The man who put the car together said the side rear view mirrors came off of late 80's vintage Buick sedan. The remote control cable assembly is all GM, just like on my other GM cars from the 70's and 80's.
The data plate and VIN tag indicate that the car was built in St. Louis on December 14, 1968. It left the plant painted Inferno Orange, it had a black vinyl interior and was a 300HP 4 speed car.
The car was in sad shape when the prior owner got it, and he effected all of the changes to the stock Corvette.
It was shown multiple times and was featured in Car Craft magazine in the early 90's. He said he had several copies of the magazine and would provide me with one.
The car is nice now, but I wish it was bone stock.
I am going to track and autocross the car when I think it is safe to do so. It should do fine with the very strong LS1 in it along with the Doug Nash 5 speed and the 5 Link Guldstrand rear suspension it has in it.

APD,
Those look like CCW wheels to me. CCW = Complete Custom Wheels (now owned by Weld Racing).
They are located on the east Coast of FLA.
Call them & send a photo in a email. Ask for John.
