Suggestions please for a good source for a factory reproduction style side exhaust system that is exact factory look and high quality.
Anyone purchase the system and make the installation? Please state what the job was like and if it went smoothly. Are you satisfied with the system? Thanks.
Hi SK,
Paragon Reproductions is the only manufacturer of the N14 69 side exhaust insulators and chrome plated covers. Many larger vendors sell them.
Various Corvette exhaust manufacturers reproduce the exhaust pipes themselves.
The instructions in the 69 AIM can help with the installation.

Alan
One issue that is often forgotten in the beginning is that for 68-73 cars the rear exhaust bezel cut outs need to be dealt with in a satisfactory manner. Will that be an issue for you?

Not sure what year car you have and how much of a hurry you are in. I purchased mine from Paragon at the Carlisle show in Aug. Cash talks and I was able to buy them new in the box for about $2,000. Saved about $500. Also walked the show and purchased SB pipes almost new for $200. They fit very well but you should install it loosely and make adjustments along the way until you get them just right. Paragon sells them for $2500 plus shipping. Pipes run $500. With some small fabricating you can make the rear valance. Not very hard.
Good Luck

I bought my pipes from Paragon as well, at Bloomington Gold for even less. Pipes from Allen's. I was lucky to find an NOS rear valance and had the bodywork done on the fender side to get it right.
Hi,
I agree with VB that there's no need to modify the existing rear valance panel since 69 side exhaust valance panels to fit 69-73 cars are readily available.
This leaves just the part of the bezel opening that's in the quarter panel to deal with.
The fiberglass flange that was part of the original 69 side exhaust quarter panels are available too which helps in filling the gap and insures the patch in the quarter panel will have the correct 'arc' to meet the valance panel.
Regards,
Alan
Okay, I should have been a little more clearer. You can make the flanges after you get the proper sidepipe valance. The flanges can be duplicated for the bezel side which leaves a very small portion to be filled with VPA. Unless you are one of those guys that want to run to a body shop and are not interested in learning something. Just an alternative suggestion, Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez!
