C3 radio?
For the 68-72 cars no radio was standard equipment.
There were 2 radio options:
U60 AM/FM
U69 AM/FM Stereo.
Both had 2 speakers and a fixed length antenna.
Regards,
Alan

I’m 59 years old now. When I was a kid, me and my family were staying at some low end MOTEL, not HOTEL someplace. It was right next to a Chevy dealership. I walked over to look at the cars. There was a 68 Corvette on the lot. I had never seen one, I was so young. Right then and there was in love. from moment 1. It was SO EXPENSIVE at I think $4,500 or in that range. That was huge $ back then. So when we ended back home I was always looking in the Sunday Newspaper to see how much they were selling for.
I had a lot of kind words from my family.
One of my brothers;
“Stop looking for those things, you will never be able to afford one”. I didn’t let them discourage me. I was in love (with the car) and would never give up. I had just married, maybe 20 years old to my 1st wife. I found a Guy with an early C3, still had front and rear chrome bumpers. It was painted with some shade of a blue Cadillac color. It was a perfect paint job, would have never known it had been painted at all. The interior was a different story.
All torn up, looked like junk. It would have needed to be completely redone. I had no idea what it would cost to fix, but still was in love with the car. Of course the 19 year old wife wouldn’t allow me to buy it.
Man, If I could have bought that car and fixed it, I would be living my dream. I’m just here reminiscing about those old days. I have a Corvette now, and I am in love with it. I’ll get rid of it when they pry it from my cold dead hands. Corvette is an American Icon, doesn’t matter what year, it still is.
Hey, just a walk down memory lane, thanks for the info

U58 - AM/FM Radio, stereo
U69 - AM/FM Radio
UM2 - AM/FM Radio, stereo with 8-track tape
In 1978 they added,
UP6 - AM/FM Radio, stereo with CB
In 1979 they dropped the U69 and offered,
UN3 - AM/FM Radio, stereo with cassette
Starting in 1977 most dealers started maintaining a rack of optional corporate radios that fit most of their cars. I bought a left over '77 in early '78 that had an AM/FM Stereo with 8-track. I asked the dealer to swap out the 8-track for one of their (GM) AM/FM Stereo with cassette radios and they said sure, but it would cost me since no one really wanted 8-tracks by that time.
Good luck... GUSTO
