Not hard at all. Unplug the wires and A few screws and remove it. A lot of guys have converted to the C4 blowers but it is more involved. Need to make a spacer as the fan cage is bigger. When I did mine I just took the cage off the old one and swapped it to the new one.
It looks like I have to remove the coolant tank and maybe the ac line .The factory fan is fine for me .I have sealed up several of the air lines at the joints in the car .
okay I got it changed.Taking out the coolant tank was a pain .This would have been a good time to have one of those flexable cameras.would have liked to look inside hole where the wheel goes to look for dirt or to see the heating core.i did blow it out with air.I did add a better ground wire. Its been posted here that it can help .Took me 2.5 hours with cleaning of old fan blade and better ground wire.

A vacuum cleaner w/hose would get the leaves and debris out of there
YES...when the blower motor is OUT...that is the time to check the front face of your evaporator core and see how plugged up it is.
I use my bore scope and look and then use my modified tube on my vacuum cleaner to vacuum out the debris that sits at the bottom of the evaporator core where it is really hard to see it.
