I finally got both bushings in and the flared the bushing sleeves. The problem is both of the sleeves have small slits in them where I flared them. Is this a huge problem or do you think they will but alright?
I don't think either of them will go anywhere especially once the shims are installed. The sleeves that came with the bushings are steel ones are the stainless ones less prone to slitting when flaring?
I am really tempted to just go with what I have, but at the same time I don't EVER want to do this job again.
I'd run them... The sleeve is flared and it's not going anywhere. I think this splitting is partially do to the tool used. We just did a set yesterday and it didn't split, we rarely have one that does. We've been using the same tool for years and possibly it's less aggressive I don't know..
Either way in my humble opinion I think your flare will be safe.
Thank you, I thought it was alright but at the same time I didn't want put it back together and have to tear it back down to do the job again. I actually purchased the bushings from you so your response holds weight with me.
