These prices seem too good. Wondering if these starters are worth it.

I tried one.. it worked fine for about 6 months then failed.. Summit gladly replaced it .. 6 months later and the second one failed as well. They seem to be of cheap materials .. I went back to an OEM type and haven t had an issue in about 5 years

summit isn't what they used to be,
Seems they are competing with pop and autozone and one has to weed through the junk parts to find the good ones,
Way too big a pain to be mailing starters back unless they just trust you and let it slide, if you sent it back did they pay shipping?

Actually, I have a long relationship with Summit. and they very good about it. They shipped the new one to me, no charge, and provided a return shipping label in the box .. If I did not return the broken one in 15 days, they would charge me for the replacement.. I don t fault them, it was just not a quality starter.. Hitachi was stamped on it..after the second failure, I went back to OEM.... My engine is 10.5:1 CR , but the starter detail said good to 13:1 CR ...apparently it is not Maybe 13:1 is different in China?? lol

Is that the age or height requirement to make one?

Wondering if China is whiteboxing stuff from indonesia and selling it as better junk. Sad what this industry has come to

I bought one and it wouldn't fit. Supposedly it fit either or holes and showed to be a fit for mark iv motors but it wouldn't fit so it's just sitting in my garage now....

I bought a Powermaster starter from them no problems. Installed it about 4 years ago.
