Default Eckler's Catalog: Circa 1974

I haven't been active on this forum in a while. My C3 project may be on hold, but my interest in them has not waned.

I have a special interest in "Day Two Cars". Modifications that were done when C3's were still new. I imagine most of these cars have since been restored back to stock, or updated as trends changed.

I found a vintage Eckler's catalog on eBay, and thought I would share it here. Even if you are glad to be past the ridiculousness of the Disco Era aftermarket, it is at least a glimpse of a forgotten history of the Corvette.

I will upload the whole catalog, please refrain from commenting on this post until I have finished.

Hi LC,
That's a wonderful find!
I think the EITs are really interesting!!!!
I wonder how realistic they are?

There was a member here with a widebody he was trying to convert back to stock. It wasn't my cup of tea, but it did have the Baldwin-Motion style flat window fastback. He ended up cutting up the rear shell, and I tried to get him to sell me the rear window/frame. Unfortunately he lost interest when I asked him to ship it.

This is the catalog that i used when we ordered my flairs, ft bumper and hood. Lots of great stuff here.

Thanks to the OP for this, I am sure Bats will dig this also.

Hundreds of ways to take a beautiful GM design and turn it into something else....??. I prefer the way GM designed it.

Saves me from scanning mine, but not sure I would spend the time if I found it all ridiculous.

I see some negative remarks but just as many who wish they could still buy some of this coolness,
Not everyone wants a c3 that looks just like the last fellows,
and with the trend of restro mods personalized c3's are becoming the normal again,

On the slope rear window the ecklers version and the motion version are not the same different size and angles,
you will also notice their Datsun/dino headlights are different too

Chopping the back off of a new sports car to create a wagon is ridiculous, and I love it! Today's new Corvettes get personalized floor mats and chrome covers for the fuse block and coolant reservoir.

In that context I get it, but the carwash custom crowd that dig floor mats and chrome double tape geegaws believe they too are personalizing their rides, it's all point of view.

funny, I was just explaining to another member here about a week ago that the car posted in a thread had a wagon rear kit and a CAMARO front , but he thought I was nutz... and yet...THERE it is in this catalog. both kits... ... By the way, I ordered hundreds of parts from Ecklers in the 70s from that very catalogue .. Thanks for putting that up.. Brings back a lot of fond memories from a time I will treasure always.

Sorry you You mistook a lot of things I said in that other thread I sure never thought you were "nutz", only painting a broad subject with a pinstripe brush...

I humbly still do not believe that threads car was these eckler parts, with the exception that the flares might be from ecklers but in that era there were a zillion makers of flares for vettes.

I didn't see this car as just another sport wagon, and you did.
I said is I didn't think the rear of that threads car is a "sport wagon kit" and I still doubt it started out as one but rather likely it's some one off thing, it's appears to have rusty metal around the rear glass, ( would love to see a picture of another car with the same rear or that rear in an old parts catalog )
the sports wagon kits in this ecklers catalog you have to admit would have to be highly modded to look like the one on this car, but I suppose it's possible.

I also said the nose didn't look like a "camaro" to me and it doesn't ( even if they do call it that ) I understand that is what they were going for, should have called it vega...lol.

I asked you that since I didn't have an "Ecklers" catalog showing it, if you did please send me a copy of the "ecklers camaro nose, this thread solved that.

But I would LOVE an old Brunos catalog.

The nose ecklers offered looked a bit different to that threads car to me and it still does, could be it is modded by the builder. ( it has had a hard life and shows damage/repairs )

I added that yellow flamed c3 that has the nose that I believe to be the same as the Ecklers camaro nose as the flame car also has ecklers sport wagon kit....it looks like the ecklers nose to me.

I hope the one thing we can agree on is the old catalog and the pictures are pretty darn cool....
