Default License plate filler

Does anyone make a front license plate filler for the C3 years?

Yes, I have one (not installed yet) for my 82. It will work for 80, 81 and 82. Found it on eBay. I'm not sure what the chrome bumper guys do....

For the earlier C-3 years, the license plate actually blocks needed air flow into the radiator.
This was GM's first "bottom breather" car. They had to re-design the radiator support for 69 because of poor engine cooling issues in 68's. Lou.

Since we don`t have front plates in the sunshine state, I removed the brackets. But this leaves the center grill sitting way back and looking funny. So I moved it out 4 inches, to sit flush with the lower valence.

do not know if they are sold any longer but I have seen some grill looking front fillers the 73-79 looked pretty good the 80-82 tried to split the top and bottom of the filler 1/2 flat 1/2 grill look to try to match the side grills it looked okay not stunning but the fix I dig best on the 80-82 is easy and pretty cheap, people mod and install a c4 front plate there.....

I never have gotten around to breaking out my desktop since the move ( all my pictures packed away ) and cant find pictures for you on google as of yet.

keep in mind it's been close to two decades since I did this, damnnit man time flies,
but if I recall correctly the soft poly c4 front tag had a couple tabs on the top and screws on the bottom to fit I clipped off the tabs and mashed in in the 81 front recess I cannot recall that the screw holes on the c4 filler were the same as for a state license plate but makes sense they would be.

You do have to deal with the more modern font but it's about the best look for the only ugly part of an 80-82 nose

I have a c4 plate filler to try. You are correct the top tabs are in the way. I didn't want to modify it yet unless I knew it would fit or could fit.

If memory serves, there used to be an aftermarket filler panel. Search for Grill-Mates. Haven't seen them advertised for a long time.

Mike you recall correctly here is a pic I found on google,
It served it's purpose but the bottom is flat and doesn't follow the angle of the sides and as I recall in the day it wasn't popular but now I bet it would actually sell better....
