Prom Night Ride
Please keep me in your thoughts for the next few hours, I've let the eldest son take the Corvette to drop his daughter off at the school prom
NOT the LT-1 I might add..
He's been told to not come back if anything happens to it

So your son is bringing his daughter to her prom. So your son is what, 40 years old? Am I missing something?

Good luck. I'm sure he will return it in one piece and your granddaughter will be the most popular girl at the prom.

get 'em out and done early and enjoy the latter years.
It's back in one piece. She wore a dress that appeared to be the same colour as the car so she kind of blended into the red interior.
I'll post pics tomorrow but please refrain from any derogatory comments about her enormous knockers ok
She's actually a good sport about them...

We see these threads every year and I'm always surprised by how many people say they wouldn't do it. Its a cool car. No more, no less. As long as your child knows how important it is to you and drives responsibly, what's the issue? If something happens, and that's a possibility every time we take our cars out, begin by asking if they are ok. The rest can be dealt with.
Oh and please post pics if you have them. They always make me smile.

I will never forget going to prom during my Junior year in HS. My cousin let me use her brand new red 1968 Corvette coupe (327 auto with every option available) to take my date to the prom! That experience started me on the quest to save money from summer road construction jobs to be able to buy my own new Vette in 1970 (454 LS-5, 4-speed). I still have that car today, but things might have been very different if I hadn't got the chance to experience the thrill of driving a Corvette at an early age.

My son is 17 and is dying to drive either Vette. He isn't insured on them so it's a no go.
