I did not take any .I should have, the difference was huge.the factory lights look dull and washed out .The new ones are bright ,amuch more white light.its agreat update. For the factory correct guys you can put it back to the old lights in minutes.
'72 vert here, some 21 years ago, I pulled all that interior lighting crap outta the car, what a waste, it's garaged, and so the GDO has a light on it, and too boot I not out much as night anyway....own/drive any car for more than a month, who needs interior lights???
That looks really good. Most of the ones I'very seen look way too bright. Can you still adjust those with the light switch dimmer?
No. You do lose the dimming ability with them. Not sure what lamps others used but I used 2xSMD lamps as my replacements, others may have used the 5xSMD lamps. Painting the internal surfaces red may have had an effect too.
those lights make the dash look clear and easy to read.Thats a good upgrade. My next upgrade ,a new mirror with a light in it that comes on when you open the door.
You can get LED lights to dim, but it requires ALOT more work. In my old TransAm, I installed a constant power supply to give me a steady 9 volts to work with (Standard vehicle power fluctuates voltage too much, causing LED lights to flicker and dim based on RPM's) then used that steady voltage to supply power to the dimmer, and built my own LED replacement bulbs. Worked pretty well, but like I said, a lot more work than its probably worth. Though my dash lights did look sweet in Orange.
