Staples in kick panel carpets
I was planning on attaching the replacement carpets with adhesive only but I'm a bit concern about it holding overs some of the tight curves over the long run. I have no clue where I'd find staples as small as the ones I took out of the original carpet.
Anybody whose done a similar job have any advice? What worked for you? Any idea where to find staples like this?
Thanks
Test fit and trim so the carpet will fit as you like due to they are sometimes not cut correctly. This also means using what ever method of clamp to hold the carpet at the Botox where it makes that sharp bend.
Apply 3 coats of contact cement on BOTH surfaces and allow each coat to DRY. I mean DRY.
Then...using heat gun..warm up the glue so it is slightly tacky and then apply the carpet...BUT I will WARN YOU...you better have it were you want it because it is going to stick like nothing else.
I use this process on the seat back carpets...rear speaker grilles...console strips...front kick plates and also the rear compartment doors or anything that I want to stick and not come off.
