C3 to C6 Wheels
Hello,
I am a new Vette owner and I was given a set of c6 rims off a 2009 Vette but was told that the offset would be different. I've been told to use spacers or an adapter but then told they weren't safe. Is it possible to put these wheels on my c3 if so how do I go about doing that? Thanks for your assistance!

***In my opinion****
ALSO....make sure that these spacers you get are 'hub-centric'. which means.. in this photo...you can see the raised lip of aluminum in the center of this spacer. This makes it so you HAVE TO center the wheel to it when installing the wheel....and in doing so...the wheel is centered to the hub due to this raised lip...and thus...the lug nuts just hold the wheel to it. AND IF your spacer does not have the lip to center the wheel...then the stress can be transmitted to the lug studs...because the wheel is able to move due to NO lip keeping it centered....if the lug nuts loosen.

hub centric is a must, there is no blanket answer, it depends upon individual wheel back spacing , in general you will need min. 2" in the front and 2.5" in the back to clear the emergency brake bracket. This is an example of C4 wheels, with 2.5" backspacing.
which is similar to C6 wheel backspacing.

I got 2013 c6 wheels 2.75" and 3.25" rear with shaved ebtake bracket. There is a thread if u search in this forum about c6 wheels on c3. I should have gone 2.9 in front to make it more flush to fender but they still look good and i wanted to stay in quarter inches they are wheel and hub centric.

if you can buy local you can test and return, to test fit to get the perfect fit.
the cheapest place will be E-bay, must be hub Centric.
(note you may find even the hub centric, require removing a thousand or 2 from adapters, you want a snug fit)
also check C4 & C5 fourm parts for sale all will bolt up to your C3.
its a matter of figuring the exact backspace you need with your wheels.
good luck, post pictures once you find them !
your closet contact point will be the emergency brake bracket, many move this bracket to gain clearance.
with careful checking and measuring you can leave it in place.
you may also find things so close you cannot run balance weights on the rim perimeter, check they clear.
if not remove and rebalance with stick on wheel weights.
