I bought a corvette a couple of days ago. I have no knowledge in these cars. The only thing i know is that its a 74 with a 350 engine.
So i thought i could post some pics and you guys might see if some modification have been done to it. And i want some info on the engine. if its a stock engine and HP.
The numbers i could find on the engine is 10066036, 1M0918 and 6VP.
And on the head 33417360. On the block and head it says Hecho en Mexico.
As far as the body goes, it looks like some custom work has begun.
A hump on the rear deck between the back window and gas cap was added....
The front and rear bumper lines have been filled in....
Looks like the door handles and locks have been filled in.....
The hood has an additional after-market scoop molded in....
This is just what I see from a quick glance. Looks like an interesting project, to be sure! Welcome to the forum & good luck with it!
That's a GM Goodwrench crate motor made as a replacement, so definitely not original. Made in Mexico, as I'm sure you knew. A quick check showed 249 hp @ 5000 RPMs and 304 ft/lbs of torque at 3500 RPMs, but that may not be accurate with your setup.

Also, someone has used an air cleaner lid to cover the heater box, and the wiper motor is missing. It looks like the wiper transmissions are missing too.
The engine you have is a GM crate engine that was first offered around 1981, as the TargetMaster 350. It's still available today, but now it is marketed as the GM Goodwrench 350, and sells for about $1500 (only slightly more than the TargetMaster originally listed for 35 years ago).
The TargetMaster/Goodwrench 350 is the same basic engine as the 71-80 Corvette base L-48 350 engine. It uses a 4 bolt main block, 8.5 to 1 pistons, a cam and heads similar to the L-48 cam and L-48 76cc/194 heads. The engine is rated roughly at 250 hp gross, and 190 net, when equipped with a 4 bbl carb.
Though originally intended to be a inexpensive 350 replacement engine for light trucks, it has since become a very popular, reasonably price 350 for many small block Chevy applications.
[QUOTE=Devilsix;1592656975]thanks for all reply guys!
1M0918 and 6VP is stamped on the pad on the front of the block on the passenger side.
The body does need some work, but the frame doesnt look so bad.
You'll also have to figure out the door handle and lock system, since it was filled in. Probably electronic and using a remote. Hope you find it. Perhaps the former owner might have a clue.

Ok, it's hard to hear, but you have a money pit.....I hope you got a great deal on her! It's going to take a good bit of money and lots of time to bring that one back to roadworthy...
Best of luck, there's lots of people here willing to help you!
Dont know if anyone mentioned the removal of the stock popup headlights and install of Eckler fixed custom ones.
And Im not sure, but I do not recall the bottom edge of a windshield having that outline. maybe its a year where you normally dont see the bottom edge?

I noticed the same thing but wasn't sure if that's how they look on the 74?? Never noticed that before... Any 74 owners that can comment on that??
Just to add to my previous comment, I blew up that picture and I cant tell if theres fixed custom lights installed or if they are just empty. It does look like that area of the body has been messed with beyond just removing the stock popup units.
As stated by someone else, the bumper seams are all filled in as well.
Modification to the front have been done i think. Someone have cut out a bit where the headlights should sit.
The headlights that came with the car is not original, can post a picture later.
The plans for the car is just to make it run and drive, do some body work and paint , put some interior in it and use it as is. The frame looks good
payed 12000nok wich is 1413.28 usd. really cheap for a corvette in Norway, even in this condition. The car is a import car.
