Hi, I have a vette C3 1979 and I can't find what is this silver handle I am pointing in the picture is for? I have the C3 79 manual but it doesnt appear...does anyone know what is it for?
thank you
siol
The only thing that I would add to the excellent responses above is: push it in , it locks; pull it out, it may unlock. Having read many threads on this forum, I would not lock both at the same time, unless you are sure they work, or you are sure that you can climb out thru the window.
Thank you so much, I understand now.
One last thing, does anyone know how to re-attach it? Mine just came out and the manual again has NO trace of this piece...
Thank you a lot

Re-Attach? did the little silver "****" fall off? Stock ones are threaded on. You modified one may be a friction fit (stripped threads). Put some adhesive on and re-attach it.
Yes, only lock one door at a time to make sure your not locked out. My son locked himself in the other day, thankfully the tops were off.
...the entire piece came out when I dissassembled the door cover..the AIM I have doesn't show this piece... ...
I assume the "piece" that came out is the lock rod. Post a pic. UPC F01 to F12, Sheet 15 in my 79 AIM shows the lock rod. Callout #6. It clips to the lock lever assembly on the door. Turn the page to Sheet 16 and it shows the lock **** in the armrest and the lock rod on the door.
