Default Side seat stud acorns?

What's the best way to keep the acorns on that holds the plastic trim on over the seat pivots? I bought a new set awhile back but keep finding them on the floor. It seems like after I pressed them on they were loose to begin with so I squeezed in rope butyl in the hole them pressed it back on. It seems to help but what would be a permanent solution?

I put a dab of black Permatex on each pin and stuck the acorn nut onto it. Havent had one fall off since doing this.

Are you essentially siliconing them into place, or are you letting the RTV set up to take up some of the gap?

I put RTV inside of the nut before I pressed it on to the stud and haven't had one fall off either.

Had the same problem on my 81. Every time I opened the drivers door there were acorns on the floor & under the seat. So, I removed the seat cushions and took out all the screws that have the acorns and then I threaded (10-24) the ends where the acorns go. I used nylocks and a pair of long nosed needle nose pliers to put the nylock on. I used chrome nylocks and it looks good.
