How do you know the heater blower fan has good output? Does the fan work in all three speeds?
They changed the dash between my car's year (1970) and yours, so I don't know if this will work for you, but I can take the right side dash panel off in less than 10 minutes. This does not give me a good view of the blower motor, but I can see a fair amount of the duct work. That is where I would start.
I have had the right side dash out.all seems to be working ..But it still leaks into engine compartment.I get weak air flow inside but a strong leak behind a/c box..
I have a 76 Corvette. The heater blower fan has good output. It is weak inside but is blowing out on the right side at fire wall. What could this be?
Mike, Does your '76 have A/C?
the glove box interior comes out with removal of 6 short phillips head screws..3 top front, 3 bottom front, one each side..Then the lamp & lite socket.
Behind the glove box is a bypass valve that has a cable going to it from your temp control lever under hvac console ..Sounds like the cable isn't fully actuation the bypass solenoid and operating the vent dampers for proper air flow.. The cable is adjusted pretty simply by removing r/s console carpet-board and turning the turnbuckle until with temp all the way cold and fan on hi with max A/C selected, the two vacuum hoses that go to bypass solenoid valve are enabled..Jim
FWIW: there is no glove box in the dash on the 76s. Those came in 78.
yep..my error...his '76 does have a heater shut off valve in line in heater hose I believe..but he has a 2 port diverter vac solenoid .Think the air deverter shtters in the ductwork are not getting proper 'signals'..Jim

Hi Jim..The doors seem to be operating fine..It did have a/c but was removed..evaporator is still there in a box beside the blower..seems to be a leak coming from between the fire wall and the box.is there a gasket or something that may be wore out at that point? And is the another door in that evaporator box?
