Default What could this be?

While working under the dash, I found this:

it is connected to the brake light switch with the blue connectors seen in the picture.

Anyone with ANY idea what it is, what it is for?

Can I remove it?

Thanks in advance

Russ

I do have the AIM but I thought they were all metal sleeved and I didn't think the factory would add anything with those blue connectors.

Didn't know if it was a tracking device!!!!!

Thanks Mike

Hi V4,
Especially on the am band various switches like the brake light switch, or directional signal flasher, could be 'heard' in the radio.
Back in the 60's on occasion when you pulled up next to another car or truck at a stop light you could hear THEIR ignition in YOUR radio. The interference would even speed up as THEIR rpm increased.
Because the same dash harness was used for cars with or without radios those odd blue connectors were used.
Regards,
Alan

Wow,

Thanks Alan, I never knew that the factory would use anything like that.

Ok, now that I know what it is, really no sense in removing it.

Thanks guys!
