As far as I know, the highest HP for a Chevy Corvette small block was the L84 375 hp in the 1964 and 1965 Corvettes with the 327 ci small block and stayed that way until the 1990 ZR1 arrived with at the same hp. In the following decade even higher output arrived with the LS series of engines and the Z06.
