So I installed a NOS power antenna and even replaced the nylon cord with a new one from Corvette America. The antenna worked great for a few months...up and down like it did when it was new. Still goes up and down but it seems like the clutch cant sense when its all the way up and just skips or clicks up continuously. When I shut the radio off it goes down smooth and normally. Before I lower the exhaust, and all the other BS associated with taking the thing out I thought Id ask if anyone could diagnose the problem or has fixed one similar...
No clutch in the power antenna--it's some clever limit switches that stop the motor at the bot and bottom of travel. When the mast reaches a limit (either up or down) the torque "kick" caused by the sudden stop of movement causes a switch contact to open. The limit switches are linked so that when one opens the opposite closes.
The first thing I suggest is to check the mast for any damage and also apply some grease. If it's binding near either end of travel (like just before it reaches full extension) there won't be enough "kick" to trip the limit switch when movement fully stops.

It's really not that hard to remove with the exhaust in place, done it several times. Especially since you've had it out already.
Laying on your back with the car on the ground, not jacked up.
OR, on a lift chest high, where you can comfortably reach in.
