I know it's a little late to ask but I only had 24 hrs. to make a decision. I bought a 1975 coupe with auto. trans. a/c, L48 (I know only 165 hp) power windows, steering and brakes with 42k miles for 7k. How bad did I get hurt?
Why did you have to make a financial decision in 24 hours?
Kind of a long story but I'll try to make it short. It was her husbands toy. He had it for long time but died and she didn't want to drive it. She had it towed to a garage to be checked out so it could be taken to the auction on the 29th. It needed a battery and break line.
My friends son drove the tow truck and told me about it yesterday and I went to look it over. She told me what she wanted for it, I told her I wouldn't pay that but I'd make her a counter offer today and she took it.
I had a 75 Vette and loved it...only one I owned that had decent ac. Others' will chime in, but unless rust is an issue sounds like a reasonable price.

i bought a '76,very similar car, back in 2010 for exactly 7k.the body was excellent with little rust.it needed a full suspension and steering rebuild however including tires.do the work yourself and have some fun.best of luck with her.

Not as uncommon as one might think! I just heard a story while at Carlisle, about a car that was being sold (a rough L88). Well, it was offered to a friend and he was only given five minutes to decide, whether or not to buy it. He did and now has it restored to it original spec's.
A much larger decision than a 7k '75!
To the OP, without pictures, I'd still say you did fine. (assuming it's in half decent shape).
Didn't find any rust, interior good shape, paint good (two parking lot chips), one headlight wont come up and one valve cover leak. Other than that I think a complete and a good cleaning.
Doesn't sound like too bad of a deal. I have a real soft spot for the middle years...after the chrome bumpers went away, but before the bubble rear window and the "boulevard" look. Still very athletic and true.
Nothing in the pictures would absolutely freak me out. There's some slight shadows that indicate a slight misalignment in the headlights relative to the fiberglass as well as the hood along the nose. I wouldn't be too surprised if you found out that the front/nose of the car was hit at some point. But you know what? Who cares. My car was absolutely slaughtered at one point, but still drives straight as an arrow. Yes, I need to replace my frame to eradicate all of the evidence, but I bought in to the project. That's the part about owning my car that I enjoy.
Even if you find out you bought...you know...a 41 year old used car, I still wouldn't think it a bad deal. For a running, driving, VERY pretty 1975 C3 for 7k, you're in at a good price.
Congratulations.
