My sunvisor vanity mirror in my 1980 has been broke since I bought the car. I purchased a new replacement from Corvette Central. This is the lighted vanity mirror on the right side. What's involved removing and installing it? Where is the electrical plug located to plug the new one in? Have a great day!
The connector in my '79 is very near the courtesy light delay module. Remove the glove box interior and look to the right. Two-conductor connector with orange and black wires.
IIRC, the connector is near the elbow and runs down the windshield post behind the post trim.
My 1978 according to the option sheet came with a vanity mirror, but the passenger visor was replaced under warranty in 1979 but did not have the vanity mirror on the replacement. So I bought one to install. I have it all apart, but cannot find the connector. Is it suppose to be on the same harness that is below the glove box... the flasher and what not is plugged into it.... if so, I don't see a connector for my mirror anywhere.

Well, mine doesn't have a connector. Even though the option sheet says it came with one. I guess I'll just splice it into the wires the go to the glove box light. Should work ok.
In 1978 there was a vanity mirror on the passenger side but it wasn't lighted. The lighted mirror began in 1979. While there was no lighted mirror in the green interiors (like mine) the electrical connector is there.
It is though easy to get power for it in the proper location. Just grab from the courtesy delay module.
My '79 schematic shows two black wires at the module (one ground and one constant +12V) but I seem to remember that being wrong. I'm almost certain there is an orange wire at the module--if so use it. If not test until you find the line that is always hot.
I can 'say' this....that I have had many Corvettes come in my shop with dead batteries and it was the switch on the lighted vanity mirror left ON and the owner not knowing.
I have required many that will only allow the light to light up when the ignition is ON.
Some of the lighted vanity mirrors have a plunger switch that shuts off the light when the door is closed...while others do not...and the light can be on with the door closed....depending on which type you have.
