Any reason I shouldn't use a 30A 12V circuit breaker for my 81 R. Defogger? Stock was a 35W 12V. The 30s I can get anywhere the 35s cost 5 times as much plus shipping.
Without knowing why you are replacing it, if a 35 is burned out, wouldn't a 30 burn faster? Internet says these circuits draw a lot of amps, and that is why they are on a timer, to prevent overheating.
I was replacing it because the entire system, other than the rear windshield, had been removed. I replaced it all with new and a switch from Vette Masters. I'm trying the 30a until the 35a I just ordered comes in. Just wondering as I was lying on my back stuck under the steering wheel.

Get out of there as fast as you can. You might find something else to work on " while your under there "

If the original actually shows "35W, 12V" rating, then you definitely do NOT want to install a 30 Amp breaker. 35W on a 12 volt system would be about 3 amps, so you would need a 3A breaker.
Make sure what rating is on the original breaker. If it is 35 Amp, install the 30 Amp breaker and you will likely have no problems. If it says 35W, install a 3 amp breaker.

When I bought the car nothing electrical worked like it should. 2 out of the 20(or so) dash lights worked and most of the gauges were worthless. Its been a long trip but I have actually reached electrical nirvana and everything works like the...oh **** I just jinxed myself.
**edit...35A 12V ordered and on its way.**
