After looking at the floor pan photos, what's the overall condition of the frame, body mounts, and suspension components? I would also check the radiator support since they are notorious for rusting away.
Damn. You got me on the radiator support. How bad is the repair and how far back will it set me?
What did you use to paint the lower dash and map pocket? Did you primer all the pieces? What did you use? I want to paint my interior tan (Buckskin) until I can afford actual new interior.
I used Dupli-Color Vinyl and Fabric Coating for all of the pieces. It contains a maximum adhesion promoter so there's no need for primer. I just cleaned the pieces as best I could and sprayed them. $8 a can and super easy.
Are you going to "Vette Fest" at Old Town in Kissimmee today?
Thanks for the link. I'll definitely replace it next. I found a nice install write up and it doesn't look too bad of a job.
I was going to try and make it out there but couldn't manage it. If you went, how was it? I haven't been to Old Town in ages. Hopefully I will make it to the next Corvette event.

My interior screw set came in today so now I can piece everything back in the car. I got these from CorvetteMods for $40 plus shipping. Seems high for screws but it's convenient to have the right pieces. I expected the screws to be in one big bag but they are actually separated and labeled individually so I'm a happy guy.
I'm torn between recovering the stock seats, picking up c5 seats, or getting Corbeau. I know I'm only 27, but I have a lot of back problems from a recent rear end MVA so while appearance is important, overall comfort is key. Any insight?
There's no way in Hell I would put modern seats in my 'Vette. I have a bad back too and don't find the seats uncomfortable.

I was going to ride out with a friend of mine, but he couldn`t make it, so I just played with the car in the garage all day.
As for your radiator support... if a repro is "out of budget", keep your eyes open for a used one that`s in better condition than yours..... "fixable", but not as bad as what you have.
I picked up my first C3 Corvette (1976 L48) a few weeks ago. I've always wanted one since I was a kid so finally pulled the trigger. I picked it up as a weekend project car with no real timeline for completion. I'm 27 and this will be my first project of this nature.<---SNIP--->
Bummer! Just saw it listed on CL. What made you change your mind?

Congrats's!i have been following your build. I don't know if it is just because I have a 76 and notice them more but it sure seems like there are a lot of them being built.
I am really glad to see somebody as young as you that is interested in these old cars and will be following along as you progress. Good luck!
