Guys - for kicks, I'm building an alternative means of controlling the dome and footwell lights. Those that have a working timer, is its only function to shut the lights off after ~20sec?
The reason I ask is I'm confused about the purpose of the ignition wire that is part of the circuit (pink/black in the picture). That indicated to me that somehow the state of the ignition has some kind of input. Does the timer circuit stop abruptly if ignition is turned on?
the ignition feed allows the timer to turn the lights on after the ignition is switched off
That is exactly what I was wondering. So in a properly functioning timer, the lights will go on for ~20s when the car is turned off, even if neither door is opened?
