Default Rotor runout

Having an issue here with rotor runout on the front right, I have a reading of .01" on the hub itself the best I can due with the shims that I have is .01" on the rotor. I am thinking that I need to replace the hub but would like some opinions. I did tighten the hub down when I took the readings.

The front left I got to .002". I have not had any problems with lack of brakes but I have had issues with the heating up of the brakes causing the brakes to drag where you cannot push the car.

Back to work with me.

By "tightening the hub down"......does that mean you tightened the lug nuts AND the bearing nut (so that all play will be eliminated)?

.....don't ask how I know this .......I'm thinking of rotors without rivets.......

Yes both the bearing nut and the lug nuts, It only took a few hours before I did the research and then re-redid the runout.

Have you tried "indexing" the rotor clockwise on the hub/then take a reading to see if the run-out improves?

Also......The hub itself could be "skim cut" on the face with a metal lathe to "true it".....but that might not be an option for you.

REAR rotor below with rivets removed.......

I did index the rotor, put shims in made sure I had the shims in the right place by re-indexing/testing. Right now I think I will take the hub off and re-due the bearings and the races and see if that improved my runout if that does not I think I am looking for another hub.

It's a very long shot...but.......make sure there are no nicks/burrs where the rear bearing fits against the radius on the spindle....they can cause the bearing to NOT sit correctly/"****" on the spindle.

Another lonnng shot is that a ball joint or tie-rod is worn and allowing the spindle assembly to shift un-noticed which would cause a false reading.

I had time to pull the hub last night and the bearing races someone has done a job on them but I think the high spots can be taken down with a little TLC and a good grinder hopefully this will allow the races to sit against the hub and will straighten it out enough that I can minimize the rotor runout.

I had time to put the hub back on last night and was able to adjust and index the rotor the best I can get right now is .006" close but I want better. Re-doing the bearings and races helped by about half so poorly seated races can cause some runout issues. Off to buy another shim and get my car back on the road before I have to put her up for the winter.

I would look at rubber brake lines.they are not letting the fluid return.

I replaced the lines, that was one of the first things that I did. Runout is now not great but just within spec on the passenger side all I have to do tonight is put the wheels back on and take her for a drive.
