Default 1976 Corvette second batch of questions

I have a couple more questions:

The stock AM/FM radio plays very low when I have it turned all the way up. He had a CB radio which I removed right away and I was wondering if he could have had it hooked up to the radio speakers....been a long time since I've had one myself.

The stock alarm system....when I put the key in the spot on the fender and turn it, the horn goes off in 1-2 seconds. This is with the hood and both doors closed? Something I'm missing here? Do the actual doors need to be locked too??

Also, my car has no passenger side mirror and I don't like it one bit. I plan on buying one and making a template of the drivers door with the window and front of door gap lines to get it indexed and mark where holes are and then, flip the template over and index it on the passenger side door to locate whereto drill the new holes.......sound reasonable? I also want a mirror to match the original......used vs new at Ecklers?

The doors don't have to be locked to use the alarm. Sounds like there's short in the wiring.
I wouldn't have a problem going with a used mirror in decent condition.

Check to see if the convector is still behind the dash and plugged into the stock radio.

Well, as far as the alarm.....I looked inside the fender and I do not have a Corvette Anti-Theft Switch in there. Not sure why someone would have removed it for but I ordered a new one from Eckler's and will see if I can get it to work. Since I don't have the original, I guess I'll have to come up with new nuts to hold the switch in place to try to find used hardware. I don't believe it comes with the replacement one from Eckler's.

Well, I went back and looked and found the wires and socket that plugs into the top of the Corvette Anti-Theft Switch and it was there plugged into it. It appears to have broken off at the base of the threads and the threaded part and the nuts fell off and are missing, The wires were long enough that I could pull it outside the engine compartment and close the hood. I pressed the little button and turned the alarm on with the key......it went into alarm. Once I get the new one, I will try to find a nut to fit it and see if I can get it to work. Any thoughts?
