Default 76 frame pic

Hi, I finally got all my frame parts blasted and powered.

No the fun part, can I put it back together.

I have a lot of pics but one I didn't take is of a look down with everything on but the engine and gearbox.

Looking at the fuel and brake lines.

So does anyone have a nice top ish down look of a 76, that is restro and clean. ( my pics are all dirty )

thanks

Hi D,
I'll start… but a 71.
I believe the brake and fuel/return/vapor lines are similar.
Regards,
Alan

Good morning Alan,
On your frame is that a new gas tank or did you paint it? If so, what paint did you use?

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Danny,
Although I have a new Quanta tank in there now the tank in the pictures is the original tank painted with Eastwood's "Tank Tone".
It gives the tank a nice clean look but is a bit different than the plated original.
The original tanks were 2 pieces welded together. The darkened 'heat zones' created by the welding process is lost when the tank is painted. It's a small detail, but bothered me so…. "a fool and his money are soon parted!"
Regards,
Alan

Here's a tank that shows the original plating and weld's appearance.

Thanks Alan,
I was thinking of purchasing one too but I have a 1975 and it has the bladder in it. I'm not sure that you can transfer the old bladder into the new tank without damage to it.

Hi Danny,
It's such a small detail and the "Tank Tone" looks so good it's very hard to justify the price of the new tank.
I actually think the Tank Tone looks better, it's just not what the tank looked like originally…. and that matters to a few folks.
Regards,
Alan
