Some of you may recall my post back in September soliciting European member's info so I could visit them while on a 5 month trek around Europe. Here's the original post if you're interested https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...m-members.html
Things have been great and I met Dave in Sterling, Scotland and got to check out his awesome C3. I've had a great time with my wife and really relish in watching her dream trip unfold. Then the day came when we were leaving Belgium to head off to Germany. I carried our big bag down the stairs and felt a little "twinge" in my back (a lot of you know immediately where this is going!). 30 minutes later I couldn't walk or stand without assistance. I spent all day yesterday in the local hospital getting "stabilized" so I can recover enough to travel home for a back procedure. I'm currently bed ridden in Ghent, Belgium. We have scheduled our return flight to the US for next week. I guess where I'm going with this is you just never know what is in store for you from one minute to the next, nothing is promised. Enjoy the moment. Kiss your spouse unexpectedly. Call a friend. Tell your kids you love them often. Because life is what happens while you're busy making plans!!! I'll recover form this and it surely could have been worse. Sorry for rambling, just feeling blessed and wanted to update those who were following my journey.
Sorry about your injury. Wishing you a safe journey home and complete recovery. Yes, your post is a good reminder - some day we all will die - but on all the other days we will live: hug your loved ones, enjoy every breath (even the painful ones), give thanks, LIVE your moments...
Your story is a sobering reminder of just how fragile life can be and how health is our greatest wealth. Here's wishing you that all goes well going forward.
Safe travels home and a quick recovery wish for you. Once you are in good form again you can fulfill that dream trip once again.
Best wishes to you.
