Strange Noise

I took my 71 Coupe out for a ride this weekend. When I left my house I heard a strange noise from the car.Not real loud but loud enough to be heard. It kind of sounded like rubber squeaking. Almost like if the shaft had a rubber gasket and it was squeaking as the shaft turned. The faster I went the faster it squeaked but not louder. If I pushed the clutch in and let the engine rpm go down the sound was the same. As I slowed down the sound would go slower.

I have no idea where to start looking. Hopefully someone here may be able to point me in some direction.

is the noise from the front or back?
front could be wheel bearing
rear could be wheel bearing or rear drive shaft u-joint or half-shaft u-joint
middle could be front u-joint on drive shaft

Hi Mb,
Maybe check to see if it stops when you apply the brakes even a little bit.
That would eliminate a rotor moving a brake pad.

It is hard to tell where it is comming from. I will have to take someone in the car with me to try to tell while I am driving.
