Default '72 rag measurements....

Need talk to someone to get measurements on the top rag.....

specifically, I ordered another top for the '72....and the thing needs to be 11" tall on the back edge of the side windows...from the bottom seam going around the back deck at that corner, and up top to the lowest point up top that has to miss the window if up all the way... tops as made seem to be all 10.5 inches meaning the silly glass hits the canvas and not the rubber gaskets for wind/rain....

anyone....keep in mind, the measure is from the outsides of the top stitches, where the rounded off part hangs down over the glass, to the very bottom of the seam going around the deck....

thanks guys if you can measure your cars and tell me what you find, and if your tops seem to work well.....with side window sealing..

Sounds like it might be an Al Knoch top . That's the kind of defects that they often have. My top is a Robbins which is the best fitting tops on the market and it measures 11 inches measuring from the rear of the door up to the top edge in the rear where you referred to. It should have plenty of clearance to clear the top and rest on the weather strips.

Thanks, so I was correct.....I have had a top on my car for some time now professionally installed, and sure enough the overhang problem also included the entire length along the back edge, but I figgered I could pad the thing out internally and pull that back edge to the rear enough, but no cure for the damn thing being too low, I just chopped hell outta the one on the car now, but obviously it works more or less ok, but looks like ****....tried another top order, same defect.....

Give a Robbins top a try. I've installed many tops and the Robbins tops always fit perfect. Nice straight seams and rear plastic windows as flat as glass .
